Hyundai have introduced an automatic variant of their Santa Fe SUV. The auto transmission system is a six-speed unit and is prices at Rs. 24.36 Lakhs, Ex-Showroom Delhi. Now that’s not cheap, but if Renault can try the antic with their Koleos, why cannot Hyundai. So what if the price tag puts the vehicles in the league of the BMW X1 base variant. Hyundai is confident of its product. In the Auto variant, the Santa Fe also features a keyless fob, and push button feature.

Santa Fe comes equipped with a 2.2-liter CRDi engine producing 197 bhp of peak power and 430Nm of torque. Currently the Santa Fe is being brought to India as a CBU, hence the high price. If Hyundai could somehow manage to assemble the car here, and reduce the price, it would look like a more reasonable product. Most of the sales in this segment coming Hyundai’s way would be by virtue of the absence of good Automatics with a diesel hart. The situation will change once Toyota introduces the Fortuner automatic.
