welcome to carsnewrelease.blogspot.com website that provides a variety of information about the latest cars in the world. and this time we will share information about the 2013 Mercedes Sl63 AMG, the following information.
If the eyes are the windows to the soul, then the dazed peepers on the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG, with their heavy, cockeyed lids, would reveal the newest iteration of the hot-rod SL to be an incorrigible drunk with a fondness for the snooze button.

But like many things your granddad told you, it’s poppycock. The SL63 is actually fully alert and has its metaphorical shit together. In fact, it was up hours before you—fresh as a daisy—closing deals like the master of the universe it is.

So ignore the eyes. They mean nothing at all. For soul, you’ll want to look at the great, stonking hunk of twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V-8 that produces, in base-level form, 530 horsepower and great gobs of torque with no apparent effort. That’s 12 more horsepower than the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V-8 made in the previous SL63. With so little difference in peak power, you might wonder why AMG bothered. Indeed, so good was the 6.2-liter that AMG engineers get wistful just talking about it, even in front of the meddling, judgmental press. Goodness, was it a lusty thing with perfectly linear power delivery, immediate throttle response, and an exhaust snarl that would cause wolverines in neighboring states to believe they’d heard the voice of their God.

 Underhood Motivation
Although more of a high-performance grand-tourer than an all-out sports car, the SL63 AMG still boasts impressive power in addition to relatively deft backroad moves.
The SL63 uses the same 5.5-liter V8 engine used in many other AMG products. Boosted by a twin turbochargers, the V8 cranks out 530 horsepower and 590 lb-ft. of torque in its standard configuration. But buyers interested in outright speed can select the AMG Performance Package, which ups those figures to 557 ponies and 664 lb-ft. of torque.

The AMG Performance Package-equipped SL63 sprints to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds before topping out at an electronically-limited 186 mph. Despite all that power, Mercedes-Benz says that fuel economy is up 30 percent compared with the previous engine, although specific figures will have to wait until closer to the car's launch later this year.

The V8 uses an eco start/stop system to further save fuel, while its seven-speed automatic transmission delivers power to the rear wheels. An AMG-modified active sports suspension ensures improved handling over the standard SL roadster, but a Sport button can be engaged to select even firmer shock danmping to reduce body roll. Electro-mechanical power steering has been specially tuned for a faster ratio than the standard SL.

The standard AMG-modified brakes can be further upgraded with the selection of the AMG Performance Package, which includes 15/3/14.2-inch disc brakes and ceramic pads. Standard wheels are 19-inch AMG models, but the Performance Package staggers things with a 19/20-inch front/rear setup.source:leftlanenews.com,caranddriver.com
